The Department of Japanese has been established for a long time, and after more than 20 years of development, it has gained a lot of experience in training talents. It has made important contributions to the development of local economy and culture, and its students are highly praised in various walks of life, with a high degree of public recognition.

The Japanese major ranks 28th among the 385 Japanese majors in the country, and is the main construction major in Ningbo. The Department has made important achievements in the fields of modern and contemporary Japanese literature and the comparative study of Chinese and Japanese cultures, and is well known in the academic world at home and abroad.

At present, there are 16 teachers in the Department of Japanese. Currently, there are 16 faculty members, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, 10 lecturers, 4 holding Ph.D. degrees, and 2 doctoral candidates, making a reasonable faculty structure.

Relying on the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Department of Japanese has more than 1,500 instruments and equipment, including audio laboratory, multimedia studio, professional audio laboratory, simultaneous interpretation laboratory, audio and video recording studio, foreign language audio studio, and network control room.
